Experience and compassion

The very heart of psychotherapy is a caring deeply human meeting between two people.

- Dr. Irvin Yalom

For more than 30 years I have worked as a psychotherapist for individuals, couples and families.  Early in my career I specialized in medical social work, followed by working at family service clinics.  For the last 20-plus years, I’ve worked in private practice, currently in Campbell, CA.

With such a diversified professional background, I am experienced working with people from varied cultural, socioeconomic, and educational backgrounds who come with a broad spectrum of presenting problems.  In addition to my clinical work, I often give presentations and workshops on a variety of related subjects, including divorce survival skills, stress management at work, family wellness, and balancing your life.

These work experiences, along with my extensive education and post-graduate training in psychotherapy, provide me with a solid foundation to help you discover new possibilities for making positive changes in your life.

My life experiences have deepened my understanding of the problems people bring and my compassion for them.  I am a child of divorced parents who as a young woman was widowed with a young child and then remarried and raised a blended family while caring for my elderly mother.  Now, like so many women, I parent adult children and grand-parent across the miles.

I am married with two adult sons and two wonderful grandchildren.  I’m active in community volunteer work in social justice issues and love to travel.
